Altar servers attend to the altar at Mass and other liturgies.
Their essential function is to provide a reverent atmosphere by assisting the priest celebrant throughout the various liturgies that take place in our church, especially Sunday Mass, funerals, and weddings.
Membership is open to Catholics who have been baptized and have received their first communion. Young parishioners are welcome to serve with the permission of their parents.
Acolytes are appointed by the pastor and undergo training, held twice a year, and often attend “rehearsals” for more complex or solemn liturgical functions.
